The Best of Both WorldsAfter looking at marketing cooperatives and other alternative systems, we came up with a prototype for a real alternative business and economic model. We found that by matching supply with demand (by producers forming long-term purchase agreements with retailers) we could restructure a whole supply chain. This of course required an oversight and management function to direct the activities of the supply chain. Thus, our concept of "whole chain management.” Whole Chain Management (supply chain management): the management of the entire value-added chain, from the supplier to manufacturer right through to the retailer and the final customer. It has three primary goals: Reduce inventory, increase the transaction speed by exchanging data in real-time, and increase sales by implementing customer requirements more efficiently. EcoFacilitation was therefore founded as a creative marketing and Whole Chain Management company with goals to create an alternative and unified supply chain (by restructuring existing supply chains and creating new ones), to facilitate the development and distribution of products that are fairly traded, sustainably grown (mostly organic), and attentive to nutritional concerns. |
